Queen's Blade Anime Hits The Airwaves

The Queen's Blade anime series was finally broadcasted last week and as promised, fans of the series were not disappointed by the visual representation and feast provided by the anime. To be screened over 12 episodes, the Queen's Blade: Rurō no Senshi series is produced by ARMS and was announced to be broadcasted fully uncensored. However, only one station AT-X appears to have held on to that promise in screening it in all its full oppai glory. For those without access to the station, they will have to wait till the DVD release of the anime from Hobby Japan, while those who managed to watch Queen's Blade anime for free either in Japan or elsewhere and the AT-X version would have enjoyed themselves.

That said, the first episode had lots of oppai and action, and some very interesting combat angles, but in no way unfamiliar to Queen's Blade fans. Fanservice was thus in plentiful supply and might have been overdone, but tell it to hardcore fans. No one really plays or follows Queen's Blade for its plot anyway. The artwork and animation was quite well done although it was hard to focus on that or anything else. Mellona appeared to be a huge favorite after the episode aired, and it shouldn't be too long before new anime figures will be made of her. Just too good to turn down the chance with such a character as you could finally be the one to lend her your hands.

Apparently episode 1 of Queen's Blade had really terrible English subtitles when first released. So if you were unlucky enough to see that version, one might be forgiven to wonder what the fuss was all about. Get your hands on a properly subbed version or your Japanese up to par. Despite the overwhelming amount of fanservice, Queen's Blade does have some great moments of both action, dialogue and plotline.

There are some awesome Queen's Blade anime PVC figures that are already out there since the whole franchise was first created. Some of the really popular ones are quite a sight to behold. It's amazing how anime figures of such quality can be designed, made and displayed. It's probably a bonus that Queen's Blade characters are perfect for anime figure making. Some of them are beautiful, some downright cute, and others a great balance of both. Most of the better Queen's Blade figures are made by MegaHouse from their Excellent Model Core series.

This Excellent Model CORE Queen's Blade Nanael PVC figure is not only popular, but has the signature pose of the character Nanael, who is a lustful little devil that just wants to fill the world with men. It's no wonder that fans adore this figure.

This Excellent Model Core Queen's Blade Rebellion Knight Princess of Revolt Annelotte PVC figure is a personal favorite of mine. The character herself in the series holds much attraction for any guys who like a woman with authority and power. Annelotte is a leader of the Rebel Brigade, filled with women fighters sharing the same fate as her. This Queen's Blade Rebellion Knight Princess of Revolt Annelotte PVC figure has one of the best details made for an armor costume on a figure I've come across. Her sword and shield are both held in a graceful pose. Only pity is the missing Ambrosius.

The Excellent Model Core Queen's Blade P-9 Menas PVC figure is another winner and not just for her well made eyes. The pose is fantastic and is perfect as a teaser for any Queen's Blade fan. Menas (or otherwise known as Menace) might only have a questionable detail on her and that is her facial expression. A bit over the top but otherwise this Queen's Blade P-9 Menas (Menace) PVC figure is hugely well-received. Her costume wavering in the wind really increases the dynamism of the overall pose.

And for fans of Mellona (Merorna), you can still probably find her pvc figures but they are harder to get due to their popularity. These include the Excellent Model CORE Queens Blade Merorna PVC figure from MegaHouse and the Griffon Enterprises Queens Blade Merorna PVC figure which is due to be released in April 2009.
